Infrastructure Upgrades and Amazon EC2

After some very long nights and a lot of very hard work, we are proud to say that Unfuddle is now running wholly on Amazon EC2 servers. Vast amounts of Unfuddle code have been completely revamped to scale horizontally and to take advantage of the Amazon approach to hosting. Site performance has improved significantly across the board with virtually infinite room to grow.
Along with this infrastructure upgrade, a number of relevant software updates are now available. Most notable of these is that all Unfuddle Subversion repositories have now been upgraded to 1.5.x, bringing you new features such as Subversion merge tracking.
In choosing the Amazon platform, Unfuddle is effectively saying goodbye to Rackspace, our previous hosting provider. Rackspace was an excellent partner that served Unfuddle and its customers very well over the years. However, we simply needed to move on to an infrastructure partner that could better grow with our needs.
The Unfuddle team is very excited. Now that there is no longer an imminent need to upgrade our infrastructure, we can return to improving the feature set of Unfuddle. Many of you have been waiting patiently for more updates to Unfuddle – your comments have not gone unheard and we have some very exciting features that are now literally around the corner!

Congratulations! Our company is in the process of moving to Unfuddle for all of our projects. Performance was a concern during evaluation, but we trusted you'd have it worked out before long, didn't expect it to be so soon.

I'm not longer saddend by ~20-30kb/s commits - just did a commit with 600 kb/s :)

Great news! We're in the process of setting up our new site on EC2 as well so maybe we'll get lucky and have even faster deploys to production pulling from Unfuddle EC2.
So is this the end of the changing IP addresses?
ActsAsFinn: Yes, this is the end of the changing IP addresses. During the migration, some accounts went through multiple servers, hence multiple IPs.
Scott M: So far, while I don't have any concrete statistics, we have seen much faster deploys from Unfuddle for applications running on EC2.

The speed problems were getting us down.. Nothing like throwing some Extra Large EC2 instances at a problem to fix it ;)

Our European Krimson team has been using Unfuddle for over a year now, and we are quite happy with it.
Hopefully this move to EC2 (and Cloudfront?) will decrease the drop in speed we noticed in the (European) afternoon when your US clients started using Unfuddle.

a little question... any chance it will suport multi-language in the future, it's the only down-side of this amazing service?

It appears that the IDs for all our Unfuddle projects have changed as a result of this migration to AWS.
This means all our bookmarks, bookmarklets, old emails containing links, etc. are broken, as well as tools we've written.
Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

The IDs for your projects should not have changed during the migration. If you believe that this has happened, please contact Unfuddle Support being sure to include your account details (subdomain, project id's, etc.). We will do our best to get to the bottom of things.
I also noticed that all of my project IDs changed - Had to update all of my bookmarks :/
