I would agree on this one; as a project manager, if I am able to estimate hours on tickets, how do I know at a glance whether I have already exceeded my estimate? I think the Actual vs. Completed story is not adequately represented in this important UI widget.

Hi All,

I'm looking at a ticket, and in the upper right I see a report of the number of hours, but it seems to always display 0, no matter how many hours I put into the system under the "time tracking" section.

I did a video to try and explain in more detail. Sorry for the small window size and the way I'm dragging around the browser to show only small amounts of text--I'm just being cautious about the amount of information I post publicly that might be revealed in our tickets. Can't hurt to be cautious :-)

Well, it's good to know that's how it works--but I will say that I think the behavior would make more sense if it simply showed all hours.

After all, the label says "Hours Spent" not "Hours Spent for Closed Tickets". And is "Hours Spent on Closed Tickets" really a useful metric for a team? Seems like the most useful metric would be just "Hours Spent" and that "Hours Spent on Closed Tickets" might be interesting in a few particular cases, but not really a metric that gets a lot of attention.

Josh,

This is actually the correct behavior. The ticket status "widget" only shows time spent for tickets which have been closed. Once you close a ticket with time entries, you will see the widget updated.
