jtomlinson,

Thanks for your feedback.

We have given some consideration to the idea of a "template " project that could be used as the starting for projects in an account. If we were to allow for the replication of components, versions, categories, etc, then it would most likely be in this context.

David,

That would be an ideal solution. Thanks for your response.

This is very much needed by our team - we do many projects that are similar. Wondering the status of this enhancement? that is: project template to use when creating new projects. Thx.

Ditto Andrew. And on a related note, does anyone else share the need to synchronize the names of their components, message categories, and perhaps notebook titles on a project to project basis?

I may be alone on this one but it seems as though that would help connect the data within these wonderful tools via a single name/topic. Am I missing something?

+1 I just signed up for an account and I need the same settings for all my projects. Would be much easier to have a template to use.

I think it's pretty common to use the same types of fields on all projects.

Yes!!! on templates. That would be a huge help.

Our situation is this:

We plan on creating a new project each quarter to track our bugs. Project name is something like: "Bugs - 2009 Q3"
Well, obviously all of our customizable fields for that project are applicable each quarter. For now, I'm looking into automatically creating the new project on the night before the first day of the next quarter via the API. Will work for now, but templates would be HUGE.

Thanks!

It would be great to have the option to set Message Categories and Ticket Fields for all projects globally or at least be able to import them from another project.
